I ordered the book as soon as I saw this announcement by Ashneer on Twitter.
TLDR:
I found the book mainly about Ashneer justifying himself and the accusations against him at BharatPe.
while that isn’t a bad thing per se, for me personally, I found it to be a complete waste of time as I was more interested in learning about the areas of economics, entrepreneurship, and the founder’s POV at BharatPe.
I ordered this book as soon as I saw the tweet from Ashneer about the pre-launch anticipating the book to be choke full of learning around start-up eco-system, funding, and more.
2 espressos and six hours later, I can simply summarise the entire book into a rant by Ashneer to tell his side of the story to the world about how miserable his life is because his visa for Canada was rejected, or how he helped his co-founders to get better deals and access to money + investors and how everyone should be grateful to him which he seemed to be entitled to but things never went that way.
The book could’ve been divided into simple microblogs on Twitter or Facebook to prove his point instead of launching it as the book with the subtitle, ‘The hard truth about life and start-ups’.
